ART AND SUSTAINABLE EATING:
THE WORLD’S FIRST NFTs CREATED IN DUBAI
The first collection of NFTs linked to sustainable eating and drinking is being created in Dubai within the “OUT of the BOX – The Food fringe event”, in concomitance with Gulfood (13-17 February 2022 Fairmont Hotel SZR, just opposite the Trade Centre).
The collection is part of the “Sustainable UAE eating” campaign (www.uaeating.ae) , launched during the last editions of Specialty Food Festival and Gulfood Manufacturing. These NFTs are the first of their kind in the world and link the artworks of talented Dubai based lady artists to the food industry commitment to sustainable eating and food security.
The four NFTs of the OUT OF THE BOX collection and their artists are:
– DUBAI’S GREEN STAR NFT To commemorate the first ever Green Stars Awards which will be assigned on 15 February 2022 to Dubai chefs and restaurants committed to sustainability. I’s at the same time a celebration of the cuisine made with UAE locally produced ingredients. Emirati Artist: Hend Rashed Obaid (@hendartstudio)
– SMART SIPPING: Supported by sustainable beverages producers and their UAE distributors (including bio-dynamic wines, ethically produced coffee and tea, natural mineral water). Artist: Dubai based, Mauritius born Zaahirah Muthy, who is also the artistic director of the collection ZeeArts
– THE NEW LUXURY TABLE: A tribute to the great chefs who from Dubai are reinventing the concept of luxury at the table, by using sustainable ingredients. Artist: Dubai base Malaysian born Sadie Sulaiman (@Sadir_sulaiman_artgallery)
– NOBLE SWEET TRANSGRESS: An NFT dedicated to sustainable pastry and gelato production in particular. Artist: Dubai based, Ukrainian artist Tatiana Yatlo (@yatlo_art)
Each NFT will be minted in 100 copies by www.nftdineart.ae and its holders will be entitled to the ownership of the valuable digital piece of art as well as the free participation as a special guest to the exclusive OUT OF THE BOX events, including samples and tastings of its partners products.
